If anyone had asked me what the best day of our lives would have been pre-kids, of course, I would always say, either, the day which we got engaged in Paris, or the day we got married and became one. Since having kids, that has all changed. Having kids would of course top it off but in a completely different way. Our wedding day will always be very special and sacred. xo

kiss, kiss, enjoying our special wedding photography shoot together with our bridal party. I remember the afternoon like it was yesterday. Oh to take us back! xo To relive the day would be incredible. (can only hope for our 10 year wedding anniversary!) xo
My handsome hubby getting ready for the big day, at Mertion Apartments, Brisbane city.
All of the wedding day feels! The boys rang to say they had, “lost” the custom made handkerchiefs and Brent’s handkerchief also. I’m so glad we figured it all out with the help of my sister and our wedding planner. Talk about false alarm. I know those things don’t matter though. Nor did our car not turning up after I shouldn’t have changed the time with them. Always stick to getting the car service to come earlier! A wedding is so important to the couple who’s big day it is. (I have never really forgotten but of course have forgiven the car company), but things happen in life and you have to learn that there are more important things! Like enjoying why you got married to your best-friend. xo
The Cathedral – My handsome hubby waiting for his bride to arrive! xo
The beautiful architecture of the cathedral literally just takes your breathe away. So does Mr T of course ladies! (hehe). I’m a lucky lady to call this man the father of my kids. xo
xo This beautiful image captured by the forever talented Sarah Taylor photographer has always been one of my most favourite wedding day images. I just adore it so very much. xo
My Darling and beautiful Mum and Mother-in-Law lighting the personalised candles on the day. It’s so special that we got to keep the candles which I had ordered especially. One was for our family name and then there was one either side, for each family. Representing the two families, coming together as one. xo
This beautiful image is another one of my faves. <3 xo Getting out of the car for the very first time. This vintage car company was awesome too. We had two car companies on the day. I remember bawling my eyes out in the car, my sister had to help get me in the car. All of the emotions leading up to and on the day had crept up. I remember the gentleman asking if I wanted to go around the block again. lol. “No, of course I wouldn’t and couldn’t be late!”. I think our timing was just perfect in every way. Just how it was all meant to work out.
A tender moment as newlyweds. Another fave photo. I’m not going to lie, aren’t all wedding day photos the couple’s faves! 🙂 I was so very happy with my bridal hair also. A big thank you to the stunning Bec and Lauren for bringing my beauty vision to life! xo
I purchased my personalised garter online and absolutely loved and adored the design! It was complete with, “something blue”. It’s something that I have kept in my wedding day momento box.
Our groom with his bridal party groomsmen! They are all looking very dashing and scrubbed up well! Way to go guys. You are all so very special to us in our lives. Thank you.
Back to beauty basics. The beautiful Lauren and Bec were simply amazing! Thank you so much guys.
Getting ready with my beautiful Mumma. Precious moments indeed. Ones to treasure forever. xo
Take my hand and dance the night away with me! Wedding day vibes. xo
Watching the doves be released truly was magical! I think that the little ones were a bit overwhelmed which is very cute looking back at the photo now that they are so much older! xo <3
We hired some styling pieces from Adorn Event Hire which we just loved. Most of the items were from Adorn but we also added some of our own little pieces, as well. Guests could type u little, “well wishes” which was so sweet as I am a writer and wanted to incorporate something personal in to our wedding day. We had also both owned a PR and marketing company together before we got married. xo
Our cake! My goodness! It truly was and still is, in my opinion, an art masterpiece! We could not have been more happy with how the stunning cake went. It was complete with hand-made sugar icing flowers that were the perfect colour shade match to our bridesmaids’ dresses. We also had our very own, “R & B” monogram designed.
At the alter. In the moment together. Deep in thought for what was moments before we would become, “husband and wife”.
I just loved and adored our wedding day flowers! They were everything and still are, everything. (I had them preserved, along with some of our pretty and delicious sugar flowers!) I also added a vintage little brooch and my husband had a special penny that was the year of his late father’s birth. He was an avid coin collector. He was with us in spirit on the day.
I really love this wedding day photo of us also! This was one which we both chose to get made as a special canvas print. How many special prints or canvases did you choose to print and have made for your special day? It’s so far keeping up with them all. We also had another three photo collage one printed. It actually needs to be re-put back on the wall! xo
As part of our hiring package, we used a stunning big old vintage mirror and easel at our big day. You can see the silver ornate mirror pictured above. It was truly beautiful. It also got re-used again at the wedding reception before guests walked in, and were, “wowed by the room!”
Our wedding invitations were made by a dear friend of mine. I wanted to support her business, here in Brisbane. The paper stock was a stunning silk cream, matte. The design was all custom and french inspired, complete with our monogram logo which was consistent throughout. I could not have been more happier with our wedding day stationary. We also opted for matching place cards and table numbers, as well as service booklets. We even had matching coasters for the pre-bar canapes and dinner drinks! Not to forget personalised cute little napkins for the cake and lolly buffet too! (Swoon, take us back! Pronto, hehe) xo
Instead of the traditional, “pillow!” even though we did also have a little pillow and cute wedding day teddies for the page boys to carry, the actual, “wedding rings” were kept safe and secure with the groomsmen and we used this gorgeous hand-made book, “How Do I Love Thee?” I found so much pretty inspiration on Pinterest and Etsy, but just couldn’t find the one. So our beautiful stylish made us one! We loved it. It was so perfect. It represented love poetry. I also gifted hubby a gorgeous little engraved fob watch and a French vintage book. He gifted me an engaged love heart necklace which I just adore. It’s so Amore! Something which I will always treasure. Our eldest son admires, “Mummy’s special necklace too!” An heirloom perhaps to one day pass down? Time will tell. xo <3

With love, Mr and Mrs Tickner xo
